3D Technology Checklist

This product is 3D-related. To help you get a great 3D experience, use the checklist below to ensure you have everything you need. 3D viewing requires:

A Display
First, you'll need a 3D-ready display--whether it's a 3D HDTV, 3D projector, or 3D computer monitor. These displays have more processing power than standard 2D models for displaying 3D images in rapid succession.
A Source
Your display may be ready for 3D playback, but you'll still need a device to read 3D content. This can be a cable box with a subscription to a 3D channel, a 3D Blu-ray Disc player, or a PlayStation 3 system.
3D Content
3D content--the actual entertainment, in other words--will be played back using the source mentioned above, whether it's a 3D broadcast from your cable provider, a 3D Blu-ray Disc, or a 3D video game.
3D Glasses
For now, the vast majority of 3D HDTVs require glasses for 3D viewing. Many use powered "active shutter" glasses, others polarized "passive" glasses. You'll need one pair per viewer, and they'll have to be compatible with your display, whether they're the same brand, or a pair of "universal" glasses designed to work across brands.
HDMI Cable
To connect your source (such as a 3D Blu-ray Disc player) to your display, you'll need a high-speed HDMI cable. Cables with this designation feature bandwidth speeds up to 10.2 Gbps (gigabits per second), for carrying the 3D signal without any loss of quality.

Internet-Ready Devices

Internet-ready devices use your broadband connection to deliver dynamic content to your television, whether it's streaming video from Netflix, new music from Pandora, or a quick glance at today's weather forecast.

Although there is overlap, each manufacturer offers a unique bundle of free or paid services, including streaming video and music, social networking apps, online photo galleries, news and financial updates, weather info, sports scores, and a variety of other smartphone-like applications.

Manufacturers continue to add new content to their offerings, keeping customers current through firmware updates, and making a bit of research a prudent step in your buying decision.

A fast .001ms response time optimizes fast motion video content. Because it can track fast-moving images without motion blur, plasma is ideal for watching action-packed sports or playing video games.

ConnectShare Movie

Connect a thumb drive or digital camera quickly and easily via the PN64D8000's USB port. An intuitive, user-friendly interface allows access to videos, music, or pictures via the remote.

Real Black Filter

Sometimes you can’t keep sunlight or house lights from shining right on your TV screen. With Real Black Filter, you can still get an amazing picture even with reflective light. It improves image contrast by surpassing the amount of external light that’s reflected. So daytime viewing is improved for a crystal-clear picture and dark detail is crisp and well-defined. Real Black Filter especially helps maintain a high contrast so even your nighttime viewing features rich blacks and realistic images.

Quality Sound

Get crisp, clear sound with 10 watts through two speakers and advanced SRS technology. SRS' TheaterSound, available in new Samsung HDTVs, is an all-in-one audio suite that directly addresses the three most common consumer TV audio complaints--inconsistent volume levels, unintelligible vocals, and poor, dimension-less sound.

ENERGY STAR Compliant

The PN64D8000 exceeds the strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the EPA and US Department of Energy.

Fast transmit to the present, 3D movies now uses stereoscopic filming. Movies like Avatar and My Bloody Valentine use Digital 3D that is more detailed than Accepted three dimensional movies.

You will appreciate a Digital 3D movie through High Definition Tv due to its clarity.

Is it required to watch 3D movies using a 3D Dvd player?

The reply is no. You can still watch 3D movies using your thorough Tv at home. Just get a pair of red and blue glasses and you are all set!

If you own a Hdtv or a 3D Dvd player, you get to enjoy a movie in 3D better. Instead of wearing colored glasses, 3D movies in Hdtv is best watched using clear glasses to make the scenes 'pop-out'. It gives good results and the pleasure might be closer to that in a cinema!

Here are some tricks to maximize your viewing pleasure:

* enhance the glow in your Tv. If you are using thorough television to watch a 3D animation, wearing those colored glasses might make the images dim. To avoid this, increase the glow to compensate the dark shades from your glasses. This might enhance the capability a bit.

* Switch off the lights: You get to feel the full cinematic effects by dimming the room. This enhances the images and projects other bright-colored scenery from the screen. It also lessens the double-vision, halo effects and improves the glow of the effects.

* Sit closer to the television: You will get a good view and focus if you sit in front -- not on the sides. If you must, you can sit a diminutive closer to appreciate the visuals.

So grab a good pair of red and blue glasses, pop-corn, some soda and enterprise and enjoy a three dimensional movie today!
